1.3.11

the roof is on fire.

Tigerlily knit dress, vintage backpack, various bling.

A night on a rainy rooftop, followed by a wander in The Garden (with yiros) and then some dancing where way too much middle-aged gyrating was witnessed.

I get lots of emails asking where my rings come from. Each one is from someone or somewhere special. The long silver pattered ring is from a busy market in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The silver pinky rings were a cheap thrill - they are actually toe rings but I rarely find rings that actually fit my creepy, skinny phalanges. The silver dragon is from my BFF/NYE lover and has a twin over on her hand. The green amber ring is from a bejeweled street seller in Hanoi, Vietnam. I rarely buy jewellery in Australia, 90% of my collection is from overseas trips. Every piece reminds me of a special time, place or person.

the sun worship.

Tigerlily dress, vintage velvet shirt, vintage/collected jewellery (African beaded ying/yang necklace, bullet necklace from Vietnam, tiger tooth necklace from Indonesia, double boar tooth necklace from Cambodia, various rings).

A day in the sunshine avoiding all things productive. I'm currently adorning my antique cast iron bed head with all kinds of bones, feathers, stones, teeth, leather, dreamcatchers and trinkets, so that is the reason for my overload of animal-related jewellery today. I'm not weird, I just like weird things. I hope you appreciate the hair flip.

a wicked wind will blow.

Mink Pink spot shirt, Stylestalker leotard dress, Jeffrey Campbell x Free People boots, vintage leather backpack.

February through March means that Adelaide is my favourite place in the world. This time of year spells music, comedy, art and film festivals galore. To kick it all off was a night in The Garden of Unearthly Delights, the unofficial meeting place during the festival season. Crazy market stalls, freak shows, a bike bar, millions of light-covered trees, free hugs, chocolate crepes, a frighteningly fast ferris wheel and pretty much everyone in Adelaide - could you ask for more? The old world, freaky carnival charm of The Garden will lure me every weekend.

you got me running.

Witchery bag, Sass & Bide shirt, Converse leather hi-tops.

Hand luggage for a dusty day trip with a camera.

30.1.11

ziggy played guitar.

Princess Highway dress, Jeffrey Campbell x Free People boots, Mexican rosary from Bauhaus.

Meet my little kitty cat, Ziggy Stardust. While she has featured prominently on my Project 365, this is her first time here. I am in love with her slinky tail, her milk mustache, her bat ears, her white socks and her bipolar attitude.

27.1.11

just a mirror for the sun.

Australia/Invasion Day backyard barbeque. Candy-coloured nails, blue skies, a wading pool, too many salads (possible?), frisbee, bare feet, Australian flag pavlova, unnecessary jewellery, a questionable Triple J Hottest 100 and a pink and orange sunset.
